Presentation:
Our main goal is to reduce the number of cases of noise-induced hearing loss in the workplace through simple and innovative solutions. The development of the new 3M Peltor X-Series noise canceling headphones aims to achieve this goal. Protection, comfort and design were the key words for the development of these new products. 3M Peltor X-Series Earmuffs are based on attenuation techniques providing effective attenuation with minimal bulk. With over 60 years of experience in developing innovative hearing protection, we have improved comfort and design with the new 3M Peltor X-Series helmets to meet the needs of many industrial applications.
3M has developed the new 3M Peltor X-Series earmuffs according to these three fundamental elements. In addition to simplicity of use and ease of identification, this new series of helmets is now the reference in terms of hearing protection.
The 3M Peltor X-Series range of passive earmuffs is available in headband and helmet-fit versions. These products have been designed to provide a moderate to very high level of attenuation which meets the needs of a large number of industrial applications requiring various degrees of protection. When appropriate and properly worn, these products help reduce loud noises and sounds. The shell version is designed to fit a wide range of industrial hard hats and hard hats included in the 3M Powered Air and Supplied Air systems range (see below for details). NOTE: The headband version is dielectric (electrically isolated). The metal components of the headband have been coated with an insulating material for use on low voltage installations (less than 440 V AC). As there are no applicable standards for testing earmuffs in terms of electrical insulation properties, the product has been assessed by an external laboratory against a modified test method based on EN 397:1995. During evaluation, the leakage current did not exceed 1.2 mA when the external surface of the product was in direct contact with an electrical source. It is the responsibility of the user to determine the general suitability of this product for the intended application taking into account all hazards other than noise for which this product has been tested and CE approved.
3M Peltor X-Series earmuffs comply with European standard EN 352-1:2002 (headband version) and EN 352-3:2002 (earcup version). These products meet the essential safety requirements defined in appendix II of European Directive 89/686/EC. These products have been examined at the design stage by Notified Body Combitech AB, Box 168, SE-732 23 Arboga, Sweden. (Notified body number 2279).
